Project for UCR's Machine Design course.

Designed and constructed a bridge from drinking straws for UCR's Machine Design course, resulting in the class's highest efficiency of over 500%. Failure modes including buckling and tensile failures of members were analyzed via both hand calculations and SolidWorks simulations, with a 3D printed jig allowing for precision assembly to maximize the bridge's strength.
